We started on the basic armament layout and getting the supporting major armor elements in place and proper shape. I used a simple placeholder to determine the correct viewing angles and distances between te objects and superstructure
The idea of the cannons and turrets is that they can all move. Without resorting to using more then a dozen servo motors throughout the ship I decided that the bottom turrets will be stationairy. If I had to choose between moving trench/upperhull turrets and cannons or moving on the bottom hull ..
The superstructure hasnt been optimised yet in terms of form and 3dprintability but I want the ship to look great with and without the hood.
The aft section of the ship is not very well defended and the whole ship does not have ANY hangar bay for launching tie-fighters. So at the request of Chris I added 2 hangar bays at the back of the ship. We think they fit into the design quite nicely and provide the benefit of the added firepower.
